Thanks to all that replied to my email yesterday. Over 20 replied, only three people said they would attend. Everyone else that wrote saying they are staying home and avoiding crowds. I have to agree, that is smart. If we help spread the virus, and medical facilities get a run, who will help the sick? The responsible thing to do now is cancel.
We wish we could have had one more event to say something in person, but we would rather err on the side of caution than have regrets of this sort later. Remember you could have been infected as much as two weeks ago and not be presenting yet, but still be contagious.
I am still teaching privates for the time being, so far no one in our tutelage has symptoms. We have a sanitizing routine we follow. So if you are symptom free, privates are still available. It is easier to be safe one on one. Mainly because I can and do sanitize the studio between lessons. Let me know if you want a lesson or a dance.
The cancellations will take their toll on the revenue of all tango organizers. Silke suggested that I ask you to continue to spend like regular and pay organizers as if the events were still in action. I know Gly in Portland is asking for the same thing. So to support Yo Soy La Milonga, La Milonguita Norte and/or Saturday tango classes, we have payment buttons on our website you can use to show your generosity and and support, click here.
Thank you for always being there supporting tango in Tucson. Please stay smart, stay safe and most of all, stay well. We will plan on a big "return to tango celebration" in the near future!! We will keep you apprised.
Huge Distant Hugs,
Rusty and Jo
