Supported spindles have intimidated me since I started spinning. It wasn't until we did a whole issue on them that I really gave them a try. I found that with the right spindle and bowl, I could spin better on a support spindle than a suspended one (though, to be fair, I'm not great at either). But the bowl, the bowl is so important!

I love nothing better than a beautiful yarn gradation. Dyeing my own yarn allows me to create this. I can make any color I want. The procedure is simple and the results are reliable. The math is dead easy and I'll walk you through every step of it in Dyeing with Acid Wool Dye, my newest online class. If you're not a dyer but you know someone who wants to try it, please let them know about it! https://rebeccamezoff.com/dyeing-with-acid-wool-dye

Ever wondered what it might take in terms of materials and equipment to dye your own yarn or fiber? I made a video about this today. If you've ever been tempted to become a dyer, I highly recommend giving it a try. It is such a rewarding way to get the colors you want for your fiber art projects. If you have friends who might want to learn how to dye protein fibers, send them this post! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow_8t0a5vNE&t=435s
