I tried to post this wonderful music video by my singer/songwriter friend Daniel Mackenzie about two weeks ago, but friends confirmed that it was hidden from them.

It appears that Meta has lightened up its suppression of posts over the past couple of weeks. I've seen the video on a few friends' timelines, so I'm giving it another try.

The vast majority of my friends are music lovers! Thank you for supporting Tucson's music scene over the years. I hope you'll take four minutes to watch Dan's video and let me know your thoughts. One of my favorite Tucson groups, Ice-9, featuring lead singer/songwriter, Michael Tanzillo, Richard M on harmonica, and Slim Rost on bass is having a CD release party for their newest CD "Magic" tomorrow (Sunday) at Boondocks. You may already know that one of the artists featured in Bob Block's collage, Eric Hansen, underwent a double lung transplant in 2013. Now, three years later, he has been in the hospital facing rejection issues. I read on his timeline that he is back home today feeling happy. Goes to show what a strong leap of faith can do! Thanks for your music, Eric!

I've had the great pleasure of working with Ernest Troost on more than one occasion. Ernest is an Emmy award-winner who makes his living composing scores for TV and films. Equally adept as a singer/songwriter, he was a Kerrville New Folk winner in 2009. Beyond his talents, Ernest is one of the gentlest, kindest musicians I've ever worked with. We frequently listen to Ernest's music on our iPod. Here is one of his many songs that we love, performed with his band, live at McCabe's.

Sweet songbird, Nancy Elliott will perform with Texas Troubadour, Dennis Jay and Lee Robert of Jackson Hole, WY at Monterey Court this Sunday, April 11, from 11 am to 2 pm. Dennis was a well-loved performer at Javalina's, and Nancy performed a couple of LAVA shows, including the Western Music Festival we put on at Wedding Park at Pantano Stables in November of 2009.
