Attention classical musicians!
The Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra has been such a huge part of Catalyst Creative Collective since before we even opened back 2019. And they've been a part of the fabric of Tucson since their founding in 1979. Auditions are now open for the 2026-27 season, sign up today!

The Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra is now holding auditions for the 2026/27 season.

As SASO continues to expand its programming and artistic offerings, we are seeking players at all stages of their musical journey to join us for an exciting season of outstanding repertoire, internationally acclaimed guest artists, and unforgettable performances under the direction of Maestro Linus Lerner.

While all instruments are welcome to audition, we are particularly seeking:

All Strings
Oboe
2nd Bassoon
Percussion

Welcome welcome Artist and Creative Entrepreneur, Julie Bonner - our July Artist-In-Residence at Catalyst Creative Collective in the Tucson Mall.

​​Julie Bonner is a Tucson-based artist with more than 20 years of experience in design and visual storytelling.

She is the creator of the award-winning Desert Dwellers Flash Cards, featuring paintings of Southwest wildlife. Her art is sold in local galleries and retailers throughout Tucson.

Julie also teaches design and entrepreneurship at the U of A and Pima Community College. She loves inspiring the next generation of artists and also loves helping adults reconnect with their own creativity through art talks and fun, approachable workshops.

Designing a Multi-Passion Creative Career:
Join Julie Bonner for an interactive workshop on building a creative life across multiple interests, disciplines, and evolving identities. Presented as part of her Catalyst Creative Collective residency, this session invites artists, designers, and other creatives to reflect on their own paths, explore creative intersections, and consider practical ways to shape more sustainable and meaningful work.

With LAST Saturday coming up THIS Saturday, let’s look at some of the great events that took place on weekends, all month long.

The Tucson Rock Camp Creative Showcase ROCKED the Tucson Mall and Catalyst’s walls just 2 weeks ago. An amazing display of talent and a packed house ready to bang heads and cheer the kids on.

“At Tucson Rock Camp, we celebrate the diverse world of music and its transformative impact on individuals. Our camp offers a nurturing environment where youth are encouraged to explore their creativity, confidence, and empowerment. Participants receive comprehensive instruction on their instruments, work together to form a band, write an original song, and showcase their hard work in a final performance. By composing a song with their peers, youth not only enhance their musical abilities but also develop essential skills like critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.”
