Plus it's First Saturday in the Barrio Viejo -- a new neighborhood event. On First Saturday of the month Etherton will be open extended hours -- 11AM TO 7PM.

Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block Chief Curator Emerita, Julie Sasse will do a curatorial walkthrough of Etherton Gallery's current exhibition featuring Jim Waid, Lawrence Gipe and Alejandro Macias.

Hear a curator's perspective on their practices -- from Waid's desert abstractions to Gipe's exploration of mid-century cinema to Macias' examination of identity and the Borderlands.

Join Dr. Julie Sasse, Chief Curator Emerita of the , for a curator’s walk-through of Etherton Gallery’s current exhibition featuring Jim Waid, Lawrence Gipe, and Alejandro Macias.

The exhibition brings together three distinctive voices in contemporary art: Waid’s luminous abstractions rooted in the desert landscape, Gipe’s evocative “Casbah Noire” series exploring atmosphere and narrative through layered imagery, and Macias’s work addressing identity, heritage, and border culture.

Dr. Sasse will offer insights into each artist’s practice and how their work is connected to conversations about the Borderlands and situated within contemporary art.
Enjoy light refreshments and conversation.
