Happy World Dracula Day!
I am celebrating the anniversary of this cinematic masterpiece by showing you a few vampy pictures of me over the the last few years. We must remember that because of this amazing film, we dark hearted creatures of the night are able to show more of our true selves in society without as much fear of being judged and scorned by others. We still have those who are afraid of our darkness and view the way that we look and conduct our lives as unsavory or even sinful, but because of Bela Lugosi and his pure and enchanting embodiment of his character within the film Dracula, more people than not are less afraid and can even see the beauty in their own and other people‘s darkness now.
I was lucky enough to actually see Dracula played on the silver screen with a live orchestra playing the musical score decades ago, but I unfortunately do not have footage of that as capturing images were more difficult back then.
In these pictures, I’m with my Immortal Bestie vamping it up at a couple of CALABRESE concerts, including their set that they played at their Near Dark festival. Whisper’s family including her husband and my gothy godchildren , , , and my Godson, along with my Baby Bat C.C. from and came along with us during the last concert. We all had a fangtastic time!
Some other pictures show me rocking my concert t-shirt with Dracula himself, Bela Lugosi, on it when I attended one of the Urban Heat concerts here in town, when I hung out at the in Downtown Tucson (which is actually a former funeral home ), AND when I went to go see the newest film edition of Nosferatu in theaters. I braved the daylight for that one so I could see the first showing!
There is a picture of me and my eternally gorgeous Cousin Tony Gomez-Lomeli putting on the glamour at one of the darker themed Balls we attended.
I included a picture of me in my Vampire Art Hallway, dressed all vampy in front of just a few of my vampire paintings, including the minis of vampire themed VHS movie covers by That Savage Artist .
I am also lucky to be able to include some pictures of me and my baby dog Moonrise Logan-Landin from over a year ago when she was in good health where we are dressed up in our regular vampire attire, happy and smiling together and showing off our fangs. I am so grateful that I have so many memories of me and her being spooky and silly together. She was my best familiar ever.🖤
