After 18 years of success, struggle, and unforgettable memories, I’ve decided it’s time to pass on the operation of Grape Ape Tattoo.
My work in genetics requires my full attention. I planned to keep the shop, but I’ve realized I can’t properly support our tattooers while my time and energy are focused elsewhere.
Rather than simply closing Grape Ape, I’d like to find an experienced tattooer interested in purchasing the business—or potentially taking it over under the right circumstances. My priority is finding someone qualified who can responsibly operate the shop, support its artists, and continue what we’ve built. Dang grab 8 good artists and charge extremely low booth rent. Easy move if you are organized.
Grape Ape has generated millions in business over the years and, in my opinion, occupies the best location in Tucson. I didn’t stumble into that location—I aggressively pursued it because I understood its value. The shop was passed on to me in its own way, and now it may be time for me to pass it on to someone else.
If the right person doesn’t come along, I guess I’ll do my part to reduce the “oversaturation” everyone keeps complaining about. Ha!
