Plate Protector. 12x9 Oil on Strathmore oil painting paper

The serious look of my 9 yr old granddaughter playing softball facing the afternoon sun inspired this painting. It all started as a loose sketch of her face, but as I continued, I felt more had to be said about her stance and environment.

Resting

I began drawing 15 yrs ago and was very prolific for 4-5 years in The Color Pencil Society of America; then life happened, and my art was put on the back burner. Recently, I have re-prioritized my art career. For accountability and renewed interest, I took Pen & Ink I at The Desert Museum. I absolutely fell in love with the medium. The drawing "Resting" was a class challenge I set for myself: complete the image using nothing but circles. I have many more planned. Thank you for considering my work.
