Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

"Kirin" and my other work are connected to the people who love them, not just the places they're displayed.

Catalogs change. "Kirin With Mumiji" is here now and worth acting on if you have been returning to it.

A mythic guardian rears against a churned silver sky, its onyx mane flowing like woven metal around a horned, snarling head. The horn’s burnished gold contrasts with cobalt teeth and a tongue of vivid blue, while a single bright gleam in the eye punctuates the fierce expression. Scales ripple in deep crimson, each overlapped plate edged with shadow and highlighted by a lacquer-like sheen. Whorls of fire-colored filigree—saffron, vermilion, and molten amber—curl across the flank, their sinuous shapes echoing the mane’s movement.

Maple leaves in autumnal orange scatter through the composition, their crisp silhouettes drifting over the creature and adding a seasonal counterpoint to the warm palette. A silver collar, patterned with classical motifs, anchors the neck and introduces a cool metallic reflex that balances the reds and golds. Background bands of grey spiral outward, amplifying the sense of motion and giving the scene a kinetic, almost wind-swept quality.

Graphic linework and confident brushwork create layered textures: glossy scales, matte fur, and gleaming metal each read distinct and tactile. Diagonal rhythms guide the eye from horn to tail, while the interplay of warm and cool tones keeps the energy taut and controlled. Bold and dramatic, this piece would bring striking character to a living room, study, or entryway.
