Picked up a couple new tools for the control room. All three are making a big impact on work flow and final product. First in the new monitor control- which actually improved my ground (was using vintage Allen Heath GS3 for routing before) and got rid of some pesky hum!! Next Ozone 9, which is adding punch and clarity to mastered tracks! Finally the giant screen, which lets anyone mixing with me sit back and enjoy the process.

Still getting the desk/rack feng shui sorted out, but now I can truly get some mixing and mastering done to the absolute best of my abilities (which have been 20yrs in the making 😊🥂🌊).

At Sonis Music Studios, a full service recording studio in Westchester NY, we love recording voice overs and audio books. Just received a donation of this 3/4 guitar. It is an excellent little guitar and it will be a huge help to one of our students!

Students must have an instrument to practice on at home if they are going to make progress in their lessons. Quality beginner instruments cost $200 or more, and this expense can be a major obstacle to a family who wants to sign their kids up for music lessons.

We provide music lessons at no cost to kids from low-income families - and that includes instruments! If you have a used guitar, bass guitar, drumkit, or keyboard that you would like to donate, get in touch with us!

We are now officially open for in-person music lessons in piano, guitar, bass, and drums!

The pandemic made us think about music and how important it is to us. As you know, a lot of musicians were unable to perform or even get together for in-person practice sessions due to the risk of covid. The studio was completely closed and in fact we weren’t sure that we would be able to re-open at all.

There are tons of benefits to learning music at any age, but the best introduction to music is taking lessons as a kid. Unfortunately music lessons are - to be honest - pretty expensive, and we are aware that not every family can afford them.

We will be the first to tell you that music lessons are 100% worth the cost. Our instructors have bachelor’s degrees in music and can seriously say that they have dedicated their lives to their instrument. It still doesn’t make it fair that some kids miss out on music for no reason other than the literal financial cost of learning how to play.

We would like to do our small part in chipping away at this barrier by providing free lessons to families that cannot afford them.

We have several availabilities for half-hour private lessons for kids aged 7-17 in drums, piano, guitar, and bass. Guitar and bass lesson availability are first-come, first-serve, and are limited by the loaner instruments that we have available. Currently we have one 3/4 guitar (for kids aged 8-12) and one 3/4 bass (for kids aged 8-12). We hope to have more instruments soon so we can offer bass and guitar to more kids.

Students that choose drum or piano lessons can schedule solo practice time so they can practice at on our piano and drumkit.

If you can afford the full price of lessons, your tuition will go towards making it possible to teach more kids who would otherwise not be able to afford music lessons at all.

We are accepting donations of musical instruments (guitars, basses, digital keyboards, and drums) which will be used as loaner instruments for the students so that they can practice at home.

Missing this little Sears amp - shown here in our main live room. It was the 4 watter that could! We went in and recapped the circuit, added a 1/4" input and turned what was originally a hi-fi phonograph amp into a very rad guitar amp!
