Santa Cruz Humane Society Announces Closure: After 16 years of serving the community and helping thousands of animals find loving homes, the Santa Cruz Humane Society will be closing in early Fall 2026. The shelter will remain operational until all animals currently in its care have been adopted or transferred to rescue partners. During these final months, financial donations are urgently needed to help provide food, medical care, and shelter for the remaining animals. Supporters can help by adopting, boarding, shopping at Red's Thrift Store, attending community fundraisers, or making a donation directly to the Santa Cruz Humane Society. The Santa Cruz Humane Society thanks the community for its years of friendship, generosity, and support.
