Tryon Painters & Sculptors

We love to celebrate our TPS members, particularly when we see them expanding the mediums they work in.

Nancy Eskew had never painted a night scene before and decided to try it. We think she did a great job, and it is a beautiful piece!

Victoria Emmons, who has taught classes at TPS and usually works in watercolor, submitted an acrylic painting.

Catherine "Kitsy" Stratton stated that "after painting in oils and watercolor for many years, I have found pastels to be the ideal medium for me to express mood, intimacy, and subtlety of life". This is her first pastel!

Congratulations on pushing the limits of your creativity! 🎉

These and 135 other fabulous artworks from the CHASING THE LIGHT exhibit will be on display at Tryon Painters & Sculptors until November 7.

The votes are in for the People's Choice Award for the Chasing Light member exhibit. Congratulations to Jean Greeson and Mary Lou Diekman.

TPS is excited to announce our first 3D award winner in the People's Choice ward. Toy Story is a whimsical lamp created by Jean Greeson.
"With a background in interior design and lamp design, I create one-of-a-kind functional art using antiques, vintage finds, repurposed objects, and ceramic pieces I make myself. Inspired by my love of animals, vibrant color, and whimsical details, my work reflects my playful approach to design and my desire to bring joy into everyday life." ~ Jean Greeson

The 2D winner goes to "Love Without Boundaries", painted in glorious colors in acrylics by Mary Lou Diekman.
"I focused on color balance, harmony, serenity, vibrancy, and design.
The underpinnings revolved around love without boundaries." ~ Mary Lou Diekman
