What a cool idea. There’s something like this a NMSU.

Simple, playful, and quietly sustainable — in Belgium, joy is something you can borrow.

Toy libraries across the country let children check out toys each month, just like books. From puzzles to playsets, variety replaces clutter, and sharing becomes second nature. Families save money, kids explore new interests, and fewer plastic toys end up forgotten or tossed away.

It’s childhood on loan — not because toys are scarce, but because the best kind of play doesn’t always need to be owned. Sometimes, it just needs to be passed along with care, laughter, and a little less waste.

Sustainable Truth or Consequences held its monthly meeting on January 6, focusing on upcoming public engagement opportunities, infrastructure needs, and partnerships aimed at strengthening local sustainability efforts.

There are glass crushers out there for ~$1.5k, better ones are more. But it would be nice to have some sort of glass recycling situation locally. Who’s in? I’ll volunteer some & can even put up some money or search for grants.
