In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the iconic Billy Porter.

An Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning powerhouse, Billy Porter has shattered boundaries across stage, screen, and fashion. This 2025-2026 season, he is returning to the New York stage to star as Albin in the highly anticipated New York City Center Encores! production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. Running this June, the historic revival features an all-Black cast and reunites Porter with one of musical theater's most legendary leading roles. Prior to this, he fundamentally changed Broadway history with his Tony-winning, culture-shifting performance as Lola in KINKY BOOTS.

Beyond his monumental talent, Porter is an out and proud gay man who has fiercely advocated for Black q***r visibility his entire career. From his trailblazing, Emmy-winning role in POSE to his unapologetic, gender-fluid red carpet fashion, he consistently demands that the world make space for authentic, joyful q***r expression, opening doors for an entire generation of artists to live out loud.

In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the captivating "Tempress" Chasity Moore.

A true Ballroom icon and remarkable talent, "Tempress" Chasity Moore is currently making her Broadway debut as the "Memory"-belting Grizabella in the spectacular 2025-2026 season transfer of CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL. Her deeply moving performance has earned her widespread acclaim and brought a profound new layer of humanity to one of musical theater's most legendary characters.

Beyond the stage, Moore is a proud Black transgender woman who actively uses her visibility to uplift the ballroom community. By bringing her authentic lived experience to a major Broadway platform, she beautifully honors the legacy of the trans and gender nonconforming trailblazers who came before her, ensuring that marginalized stories are told with dignity, joy, and breathtaking talent.

In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the visionary Michael Arden.

A two-time Tony Award-winning director and a master of theatrical storytelling, Michael Arden is currently helming one of the biggest hits of the 2025-2026 Broadway season with the spectacular new musical THE LOST BOYS at the Palace Theatre. His breathtaking work on the blockbuster adaptation earned him a highly coveted 2026 Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Musical, hot on the heels of his 2025 Tony win for MAYBE HAPPY ENDING and his 2023 win for PARADE. Whether he is reimagining a classic or building a massive new spectacle from the ground up, Arden's deeply emotional and fiercely creative staging consistently pushes the boundaries of what musical theater can be.

In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the phenomenal Stephanie Hsu.

A powerhouse of stage and screen, Stephanie Hsu is currently commanding the 2025-2026 Broadway season with her performance as Janet Weiss in the hit revival of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Studio 54. Her sensational return to the stage earned her a highly coveted 2026 Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Known globally for her Oscar-nominated, breakout role in EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, Hsu actually got her start originating fan-favorite Broadway roles in SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS and BE MORE CHILL.

Beyond her monumental talent, Hsu is a proud q***r Asian American artist who continues to break major industry barriers. In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the incredibly multi-talented Wayne Brady.

A five-time Emmy Award winner and a dynamic presence on the stage, Wayne Brady has continuously proven himself as a powerhouse of theatrical versatility. This 2025-2026 season has seen him exceptionally active in New York theater, starring as Harold Zidler in the Broadway hit MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL and joining the Broadway cast of ALL OUT: COMEDY ABOUT AMBITION. Now, he is bringing his remarkable charm to the highly anticipated New York City Center Encores! production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, starring as Georges opposite Billy Porter in a historic, all-Black staging of the classic musical this June.

Beyond his incredible artistic range, Brady made a profound impact when he publicly came out as pansexual, bringing vital mainstream visibility to an often underrepresented identity. In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the brilliant Marla Mindelle.

A comedic force and powerhouse vocalist, Marla Mindelle is the co-creator, co-writer, and star of the global smash hit TITANÍQUE. After an explosive Off-Broadway run, she steered the campy musical extravaganza directly to the St. James Theatre for the 2025-2026 Broadway season. Her iconic, uproorous performance as Céline Dion, combined with her sharp writing and producing, earned her three major 2026 Tony Award nominations: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Her historic season also included hosting the 2026 Drama Desk Awards, further cementing her as one of the industry's leading talents.

A visionary costume designer and fierce activist, Qween Jean has completely redefined the visual landscape of contemporary theater. Her breathtaking artistry is currently anchoring the 2025-2026 Broadway season with the spectacular runway aesthetics of CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL. Her historic design work this year also includes the acclaimed play LIBERATION, further cementing her status as one of the most vital, industry-shaping creatives working in New York theater today.

Beyond the stage, Qween Jean is a monumental figure in the community who intentionally uses her platform for "artivism." As a proud transgender woman, her work actively celebrates ballroom culture and q***r history, ensuring that Black trans liberation is centered in dignity, glamour, and profound respect.

Fairfield Center Stage is bursting with Pride to be singing at this year's Open Hearts Festival! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💕

Join us as the town gathers to raise the Pride flag in honor and celebration of Pride Month. This is a wonderfully family-friendly event, and we encourage you to come out, celebrate love and inclusion, and enjoy the evening with our community!

📅 Date: This Thursday, June 4th
📍 Location: Old Town Hall / Burr Mansion (611 Old Post Road, Fairfield, 06824)
🎤 5-5:30 PM: Guest Speakers followed by the Pride Flag Raising
🎉 6-8 PM: Festival activities including music, dancing, food trucks, and fun for all ages!

In honor of Pride Month, we want to spend each day celebrating an LGBTQIA+ theatre artist who has changed the industry for the better. Today we honor the legendary Nathan Lane.

A three-time Tony Award winner and an undeniable titan of the stage, Lane has delivered some of the most iconic performances in Broadway history, from his uproarious turn as Max Bialystock in THE PRODUCERS to his deeply complex portrayal of Roy Cohn in ANGELS IN AMERICA. He continues to be a commanding theatrical force, recently returning to the stage this 2025-2026 season in a masterful production of ARTHUR MILLER'S DEATH OF A SALESMAN, earning him a Tony nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Play.

Beyond his immense talent, Lane broke major industry barriers by living proudly as a gay man while securing massive leading roles. His visibility and enduring success shattered the stigma that being out would limit an actor's career, paving the way for generations of q***r artists to work authentically.
