Thank you to everyone who came out for Circus in the Park and helped make the weekend such a joyful celebration of performance, community, and creativity.
We are deeply grateful to the extraordinary performers who shared their artistry with us, to our patrons and sponsors whose support makes ambitious and accessible programming possible, and to every audience member, family, friend, and community member who joined us in Prospect Park.
We also want to extend a very special thank you to Ronnye Shamam and Cassandre Joseph, who joined us on behalf of STREB. Their dedication, leadership, and inspiration remind us of the power of the arts to take risks, build community, and imagine what is possible.
Events like this are truly a collective effort, and we are so thankful to everyone who helped bring Circus in the Park to life.
We’re already looking forward to what comes next — and to continuing to build a place for circus, physical theater, and adventurous performance to thrive in our region.
Thank you for being part of it. 🎪

On August 22, acclaimed writer and director Arthur Yorinks and celebrated choreographer Ellen Sinopoli come together to shape this year’s Summer Soirée—a singular evening of performance, imagination, and celebration in Prospect Park.

Yorinks, the Caldecott Medal–winning author of Hey, Al and founder of American Physical Theater, has collaborated with artists including Philip Glass, Bill Irwin, Maurice Sendak, and André Serban. Sinopoli, founder of the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company and a defining voice in contemporary dance in the Capital Region, has created more than 100 works through collaborations spanning music, visual art, architecture, literature, film, and science.

For one night, Yorinks’ theatrical imagination and Sinopoli’s expressive world of movement will meet in a specially created evening honoring Ronnye Shamam and Elizabeth Streb.

More than just a fundraiser, its an artistic event created in Troy—and an opportunity to experience what can happen when remarkable artists come together in the spirit of experimentation, collaboration, and celebration.

Tickets are available now.

Bindlestiff Family Cirkus reminds us that tradition is alive.
Drawing from vaudeville, sideshow, and the traveling circus, their work carries forward a vibrant performance lineage rooted in humor, virtuosity, and direct connection with audiences.
Without companies like Bindlestiff, the cultural vocabulary of circus would fade. Their work sustains the living ecosystem that makes new creation possible.
We were honored to celebrate World Circus Day with artists who keep the foundations strong while inspiring what comes next.
