Well.
I can't say I wanted to write this message, but Veronica and I find ourselves without a choice. As of today, we have shut down our physical location at the Troy Atrium.
Obviously this wasn't what we wanted to do, but the past nine months have been anything but normal. Because of Covid, every other business in the Troy Atrium has already moved out; with the condition of the building, the owners are moving to remodel large swaths of the building, and don't want to deal with having only one tenant in the space during that time.
We don't blame them for this, honestly, but it means that we were forced to choose between attempting to find another location and move both rooms to it (a tricky proposition at best during a spike in a pandemic), or shut down for the time being and see where we are on the other side of things.
We are holding out a small amount of hope that we will be able to reopen with new rooms, but chances are very good that this will be it for Enigmatic Escapes. We've had a blast along the way, with two full size rooms and half a dozen pop-up or temporary rooms. under our belts. We learned a lot, ran a bunch of groups through the room, and made a lot of people happy. (Puzzled, but happy)
Along those lines, I wanted to thank you all, our customers, for coming and playing. It was a joy watching you all experience our games. Although I have no idea where the escape room industry will end up going forward, I hope that you'll all be able to enjoy escape rooms in the future!
With all the best,
Stephen Kohler
