The RMA, or Rensselaer Music Association, is a student run organization that promotes and supports music groups at RPI. We host several large concerts on and off campus and help manage the performances of smaller groups at special events. We maintain the music suite in the J Building, where practice rooms and instrument storage space are provided to students who need it. We own a large collection

of musical instruments that we can lend to students in musical groups or for personal use. We also fund sheet music for students who wish to start their own music ensembles. RMA meets every week on Tuesdays at 6pm in RU 3510 in the Student Union and everyone is welcome to come. You don't need to be in RMA to be in one of our member groups, though. Joining an RMA group is the best way to meet other musicians, and we will support (and help fund) you if you decide start a new group yourself!

Small Groups 2026 was a huge success! This concert truly embodies the diversity of student led music at RPI - huge shout-out to every group that performed this weekend. Thank you to all of our performers, small groups reps Jason and Ethan, and to the RMA eboard for making this final concert of the semester possible (and to for some of the photos!), this all happenes because of you!
