A trip to lumber mill…. Yes we make our own hardwood frames here in the shop. 100% custom frames made here in Troy, NY. Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Ash, Beech, Maple…..All handmade with spline or mortise joinery. Hand-picked woods from local lumber.
Hand finished with custom stains and oil and wax, come see us today for that special project today.

This is an exquisite piece that we just finished up. It’s not everyday that you have a Rembrandt that was struck from the original plate, let alone not very long after his death. The piece is also large and unfinished, so seeing his pentimenti in the early stages is awesome.
We used a pseudo Baroque/Dutch style rib frame with a 22k gold liner. The work is floated with Japanese hinges on a cream rag mat. Absolutely stunning piece!

Went to the lumber yard this week and working on some custom builds in the shop… this is a beautiful spalted Maple with some flame figure that I’m cutting out the corners for spline joins. …can’t wait for the end results….

One aspect of our custom framing business is commercial framing. We recently completed this project for the famous Nom Wah restaurant which just opened a new location in JFK Airport’s Terminal 5.
From small jobs to large projects… we do it all!

This is a rockin’ silkscreen of the one and only . We floated this silkscreen on a black rag board with a simple black cap frame and black wooden spacers. This simple approach really makes the colors pop!
