Slimshady Customs Custom painted fishing tackle. I currently focus on custom crankbaits for Walleyes and Bass.

Bandit style deep-diving walleye crankbaits are my most common product sold. I also have clear, unpainted Bandit style blanks and bass cranks for sale. These baits are designed to catch walleyes in open water trolling situations.

My family was in town for our annual trip to Erie and the Detroit River. It was another epic year for us. We fished Erie on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Friday and yesterday. Monday we jigged the river. Wednesday and Thursday were busts due to the nasty weather. We had several 20+ fish days on each boat.

The hot baits Tuesday were “Big John Here” and “Psycho Killer”.

Friday it was sunny with stained water, and the best baits were “Gold Digger” and “Lava Lamp”

Yesterday it was raining and dark, so white baits ruled. “Fermi-nuff”, “Pair-a-dice” and “Double Barrel” ruled the day.

“Double Barrel” also caught an 10.8 lb, 30” fish that my uncle is having mounted.

Thanks to Jeremy Bartmann, Chris Bartmann, and my Uncle Mike for making the drive out every year! I also enjoyed meeting their buddy Shannon and Aiden Bartmann also made it out for a couple days this time!

Can’t wait for next year!

Tough day on Erie yesterday. We managed to grind out a two man limit, but they made us work for them. It was pretty cold out there to start with, but got nicer as the day went on. Fished 12-16 fow, and the fish were in the dirty water area. Best pattern by far was Purple Passion. Fermi-nuff caught a few too. I made a believer out of Ken, as he didn’t have any faith in the Purple Passion pattern, but by the end he had one on his side too.

He didn’t like that the purple was on the belly and the chartreuse was on top, but the walleyes disagreed with him…😀

Caught this beauty yesterday on my Black and Gold Foil pattern. It used to be the first one out of my box but I haven’t fished it much lately. I decided to bring it back out and it paid off for me! 10+ lbs and 30”. Huge belly.
