Open 11a - 5p Tuesday through Sunday! First Friday 5-8 (except January). Nestled in the sweet spot between the world and the wilds, the Troutdale Art Center is the ideal space for artists to work in their studios, and still be easily accessible to clients and the public. The Troutdale Art Center is home to the studio galleries of Caswell Sculpture, Loree Harrell, Matt Eat

on, Beaver Creek Gallery, Elisa Gusdal, and Bruce Zick. Sculptor Alison Brown purchased the building in late 2014, with the intention of bringing together a group of artists in varying mediums to create a synergy of working methods and space, and to encourage the free flow of ideas and support. That vision has become reality, and the building is now filled with sculptures and photography, jewelry and glass, and the hum of excitement and energy of a common goal to create and grow. Come meet our artists in their studios and galleries, and spend some time with the work. We look forward to having you here.

ATRUM ARTE ARTIST RECEPTION 5-8p
June First Friday
..Is the perfect opportunity to sign the guest book to be entered in this month's drawing for a TAC gift card, and...

💫🖼️🐑🎸🍷 Yes, that includes the guest artists' work!
💫 You get to enter again every time you come through the door on any day. Because we love to see you again.
💫 You get an extra entry for every artist you buy something you love from.
💫 We shifted from $50 in 2025 to $75 in 2026, because that small extra gift is a way we can acknowledge how much we appreciate you being here. Whether you're stopping to simply breathe in the art or are on a mission.

We're looking forward to seeing you tonight and remember, the shuttle runs from our front door up to the street fair when you're done with us!

ATRUM ARTE
The family was at First Thursday (Portland OR) last night and then is here tonight for First Friday At TAC to open their June / July show, and then follows THAT with the weekend at Portland Indigenous Marketplace!

This artist thing ain't for the weak of heart and body 😉.

What a night!! We met so many new folks today. HUGE kudos to the volunteers who put this event together. It’s a huge endeavor!

If you’re new to our family: Yes, we exist. Yes, we make everything ourselves. Brent is the luthier (he makes guitars). I make wood carvings and wool paintings and work with fiber. The kiddo makes a little of everything and helps with everything too. We are a family of artists. We have stories and meaning behind all our work. Come out to meet us this weekend or tomorrow night for the art show opening next we will be vending for 4th of July!

This squirrel has me in thrall. Every time I come across it again, I have a different feeling about what is going on in this sweet soul. Sometimes it feels like a prayer, sometimes it feels like despair, sometimes it feels like concentration, sometimes it feels like grief, sometimes it feels like an overload of gratitude, sometimes it feels like a simple can’t believe I did THAT.

When I am working on a show, I do a lot of digging around. On websites, in social pages and feeds - the depth and breadth of the Artist that is in public view. With Astrid and Brent of Atrum Arte, that’s a lot of depth and breadth.

I’m glad we have two months.
Come Friday.

Have you ever received a text with utterly amazing news that began with a sentence that started out with the very first five words translating to keep your mouth shut and your messaging hushed, and you celebrate with and for the Artist and, implicit in your response (in that you don’t whine about the restriction), is your acceptance of the restriction, and, so, about an hour later, they send you a picture of the utterly amazing news, and…

… then it gets really hard?

Yeah, that happened today.

No, I won’t tell you or show you the picture or leave my phone lying about with the screen inadvertently left open or anything like that, but…

…wait for it.

Anyway, Dancing In The Dark has nothing to do with the utterly amazing news, other than seeming appropriately moody to the moment on my end.
But the good news is that I got the first ever good picture of it tonight.

First Friday Artist Reception & Show Opening

From the artist...
Wool by at least three different Oregon farmers from Black Sheep Gathering, art inspiration by Mother Nature and Oregon itself, framing by Baer Charlton, and art by me.

It’s more than just something pretty. It’s helping so many folks live their dreams.
