Oakleaf Cottage Weddings with distinction and style, surrounded by nature. Both the Cottage and Barn have been completely remodeled since June of 2016.

Oakleaf Cottage and Barn rest on 28 old growth acres on the side of Lookout Mountain, bordering Cloudland Canyon State Park. The Cottage is professionally decorated and sleeps 9. Cris have worked toward their dream of providing a special place for people to unwind, to reconnect with nature, to learn new skills. They found an unexpected, 27 acre setting in the late spring of 2016, and set to work. At present the Cottage sleeps 9. Future plans include remodeling the barn for learning seminars, musical meets (Celidh, pron. "Kay-lee") and events, and a small herd of special goats.

It’s September! While it’s still unseasonably warm for some El Niño reason, the mornings and evenings are finally tolerable. We are so looking forward to cooler temps, lovely colors, and wanting warm beverages in the evening again.

This dreamy, rainy-day wedding was so beautiful! Our original plan was to host dinner in the Forest View site, and often the rain plan is to eat indoors…but with a guest count of only 50…

We decided we had the time, if carefully orchestrated, to flip the tent from ceremony to dinner during cocktail hour!

Part of the logistics that needed to shift was having guests mingle toward the front of the barn, so we could easily access the back and be able to set up uninterrupted.

The photographer, Shelby of Shelby Taylor | North Georgia Intimate Wedding Photographer also played a big part in the success of flipping the space. Often, photos are taken right after ceremony, in the ceremony location, which would then have many guests needing to remain right where we needed to be moving chairs and adding tables. A wee bit chaotic if that were the case — but she and we figured out a plan

A moment for this incredible backdrop by Chattanooga Flower Shop & Farm — which then became the backdrop for the sweetheart table. Erin also played a big part in the success of the flip, staying late so she could ensure the florals were placed exactly as designed.

The rain passed, and guests later enjoyed post-dinner refreshments under the lights of the overlook deck.

We include an overnight stay in the cottage for most of our packages because we see what a huge difference it makes in the overall experience for our couples.

The cottage can sleep 9 people, making it the perfect home base for your wedding party or immediate family members. For your convenience, the kitchen is stocked with plateware, glassware & even coffee to enjoy the morning of before getting ready.

Not only do you not have to worry about travel logistics on your wedding day, you have more time built into the day to relax and soak it all in.

Resting on 32 acres of mature forest, bordering Cloudland Canyon State Park… we are indeed, in the forest. We have no meadows, no big clearings, just space enough between the trees for the Cottage & Stable. The trees even interrupt our Forest View ceremony site.

It’s part of what makes it so peaceful here.

We started to include planning in all of our packages & it has made a HUGE impact on the overall experience for couples getting married at Oakleaf. Not only will you have someone to assist you throughout every step of your wedding planning process, but they’re knowledgeable about all aspects of how a wedding runs here.

We network with some of the best planners in the Chattanooga area who know our venue well and what works best here & who really take heart everything you need for your wedding. Planning services include multiple planning meetings, check ins, vendor contract review and guidance, organization of event documentation, timeline creation, floor plan and layout, along with setting up your personal decor the day of the wedding. They also conduct rehearsal and are onsite throughout the event and coordinate the ceremony, reception, & assist with breakdown.

This was our winner! The light blue blended in softly with the dinner linen, the amber provided a citrus pop, and napkins in ‘Goldenrod’ (also from White Table) just tickled us for a lovely late summer wedding.

We know it takes a lot to be certifiable. Truthfully, when you are dealing with so much waste, every little bit diverted helps. So, if you are, or you know of a venue that is taking steps to reduce that print, let us know! Some examples are below:
-Renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal)
-Recycling services for all trash
-Low-flow water fixtures
-Energy efficient lighting/appliances
-Food waste composting
-Include real plates and glassware
-Farm-to-table catering
