The Photographer
Beryl has been a professional photographer since 1987, specializing in food photography for the last 16 years. While serving wine in Mari's Tasting Room when we first opened in 2016, Beryl inspired us with her passion and poetic way of discussing wine. We are honored to say that, while Beryl no longer works in our Tasting Room, she has been a great partner to us on many photography projects, from our wine labels to our wine caves!

“What if Wine and Cider had a baby?”
Did you see the NYT article by Eric Asimov? Producers continue to push the envelope and as such , our palettes. Ididn’t know it was a thing. But, wow- here in northern Michigan 1 winemaker continues to be on the cutting edge. Traverse City’s Sean O’Keefe is expanding the selections at Mari Vineyards and recently introduced two wine/cider blends; a golden cider fermented with their Italian grape varietal Malvasia and a red cider called Rojo under a new label called Drollery. The Rojo is fermented with Italian red grapes as well. It’s funky, musty and pretty different. Its unique. And it’s brand spanking new!
It’s worth a try.

Yummmm! Need a little inspiration for your Halloween dinner? What about a Zombie Meatloaf?? This recipe is part of the collection from The Original Netflix Cookbook, and not only is it scary looking- it’s quite yummy too! Anna Painter is an imaginative chef and created this easy to construct recipe for a Zombie face, using prosciutto for skin and onion slices for eyes and teeth.

Dinner at Aerie at is a feast for the eyes, the mouth and the stomach!! Their chef is amazing and is creating dishes so subtle & so bold ( I know! What does this mean?) that you just have to try it for yourself! And what a great time to visit- 17 stories above the bay during peak colors!
