It seems appropriate that with the passing of our beloved Pat that Apple Hill Players announce we will be closing our curtain as well. Pat was our leader for over 30 years and our hearts and love go out to her and her family at this time. The remaining players of OPAC have found a new home at The Theatre Factory and will continue putting on shows and upholding Apple Hill and all that Pat taught us. Cheers to a life full of love and laughter. "I'll drink to that."

Our Story

Apple Hill Playhouse is a theatre company located in Delmont, Pennsylvania. Established as a theatre space around 1956 in a pre-Civil War barn that was part of Martz Farm, the theater grew when Bill Loucks and a group from Pittsburgh Playhouse expanded the building and named it the William Penn Theater. It was renamed Apple Hill Playhouse when a trio of theatre practitioners associated with Mountain Playhouse bought the building in 1964; their first production was a one-woman show starring Totie Fields. In 1982, the theater was bought by Pat Beyer, who has served as artistic director for the theater ever since. The theater produces a season that runs from May to October. During the summer, children's plays are produced under the moniker Johnny Appleseed Children's Theater.
