She's aliiiiiive!!! πŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈβš‘οΈπŸ’₯

In 2020, I made a sunflower cardigan, but I never wore it out because I was too scared to snag it or spill something on it. Makes sense because it took me over 76 hours to complete, but I never got a chance to appreciate it before I grew out of it. If there is one thing about me, I hate having things lying around with no purpose just taking up space in my room. The sunflower cardigan was next on the chopping block...or the frogging block you might say. It's always funny to me that it pains my family to see me take apart a project, but I am unhappy with it until it is exactly the way I want. Fret not though! I was able to save my squares. Just needed to take them down to Jamie's workshop (a fun way of saying I occupied multiple tables and couches in my house) for some reconstruction. I thought about just adding a little bit of white to the edge of each square but I worked smarter, not harder, and just rearranged them. Made the back 2 rows in the middle instead of just 1. This lead to the garment being a little slouchy on the shoulders, so I did some tight single crochet around the collar. To wrap up the project, we had to get some new pictures unintentionally at the same park as the originals. (Originals are the second to last two pics or look at my prior posts)

All in all, I'm really glad to be able to wear this again and finally appreciate it in all of its glory.

PS- I forgot my box of stitch markers at college and entirely winged this

Not sure why I never posted, but this is a yarn bomb I put up for my friend in December. It was my friend Kshama's birthday so I wanted to make something in her favorite color. Unfortunately neither of us get to see it every day as she is in New Jersey for a while longer and I'm at college, but I still get updates from Dad who works in the area! I hope that my yarn bombs can make someone's day just a little bit more interesting or even better, put a smile on their face. I love a little harmless vandalism!

I miss you, Kshama! Can't wait for our next Mongolian bbq date

Not only can you purchase this soot sprite for $20, but you can make one for yourself too!

Soot sprites have to be my favorite characters from Studio Ghibli movies. They are just too cute!! These guys are called "Susuwatari" in Japanese. They are good "spirits" made of soot. They don't like people so they make squeaking sounds and run somewhere else when people come in to clean.

I made one for my friend Ana and fell in love, so I had to make one for myself. I thought I might as well upload a YouTube video about it too! Recording went well but I had so much trouble and frustration exporting and uploading to YouTube. Hopefully the quality is good enough πŸ₯²πŸ–€

Chess coasters! β™ŸοΈ

Originally I was going to try to make each a full chess board (slide 5) but it didn't come out looking right. 4x4 works better tho because when you put them together, you have a playable chess board! Maybe not the most convenient but still a fun touch! Made with cotton instead of acrylic in case if it needs to be used for hot stuff. I really wanted to block them to make them more perfectly square, but I'm afraid with the water would make the colors bleed. I suppose just pinning them down flat could help, but they've already been given as a gift (and already used whoot whoot!)

Catching up on things I took pictures of but never posted!!

In 2020 when I heard that we might go on break for 2 weeks, I told my mom that I was going to learn to knit a sweater. I had known how to knit since 4th grade. I still remember my 5th grade teacher Mrs Golden having to break the news to me that I wasn't allowed to bring my needles to school anymore because they were a weapon haha. I had never made something actually wearable before, but I was determined to figure it out. I followed a tutorial by Sewrella and it was completed within weeks! (Second to last pic) I was very proud of it, but never ended up wearing it because I grossly overestimated the length of the sleeves. The sweater had been in my closet taking up space when I decided to completely start over. My parents watched in horror as I frogged my first ever big project. This time, I went for more of an oversized fit with a pattern by and it turned out beautifully. I think I figured out that it took me 18 hours to complete. I might have made it too good because sometimes people can't tell that it wasn't store bought! I'm so glad that sentimentality didn't stop me from reducing, reusing, and recycling! ♻️

I love call-to-action crochet projects that I can help out with. Jessica Oliveira posted on a local Facebook group that the labor and delivery division of the Modesto hospital was getting low on baby blankets. These blankets are given to the families of stillborns to ease the hardship and at least have something to take home with them. I'm really glad I could replenish their supply with 5 baby blankets and 4 preemie blankets. Just about two hours of my time can create something that a person will keep forever and I think that's really cool.

Sending my love to the people who receive these πŸ’—

Decided to retire my sunflower bag and upgrade for one that better suits my needs! I got a taser for my 18th birthday and it was important to me to have easy access so I wanted something with pockets. I also wanted to be able to have something to bring my water in. Additionally, my sunflower bag got dirty so easily so I wanted something with darker colors. It made me a little bit sad because I had gotten so many compliments on my sunflower bag and that's how I met a few people. Funny enough the day I said that I debuted my bag and I got an order for it!

While working on the order, I thought I should make a YouTube tutorial which is up now!

Here's the link but I will also comment it for easy copy-and-pasting!

This is also the colors of (hopefully) my future school πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Happy National Nurse Day! As some of you guys know I have been in an Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program aka EDIOP. This is because I have an eating disorder called ARFID. I actually just graduated from it the other day but while I was in it I had group therapy 3 times a week, therapy once a week, nutritionist about once a week, and I also had to go to the doctor and get weighed in every week. It was kind of annoying to have to go in every week but great nurses make the difference. I have had a few really unpleasant experiences with specific nurses including one that said she wishes she had an eating disorder πŸ™„. However I got a nurse named Sherry and she totally reminded me of my best friends mom and it was so exciting every time I got her. She really loved the things I would bring in to crochet and I got to talk about my hobby to her. She really made me feel comfortable and made it so much more fun to get my weight checked. I made this for her and dropped it off at the doctors and I'm hoping she will receive it today! I'm really happy that a few of my last weigh ins were with her. I'm glad that I graduated from ediop and that I even made a few friends (two of which already follow this account I think hey guyssss)
