We are pleased to present the two mosaics we created for Katharine Harvey | Painter + public artist (2020) project “Florae” at the Chester Street Subway Station in Toronto, Ontario. “Trout Lily Blue Flag Iris” and “Milkweed Verbena” are both 8’ by 14’ made from hand-glazed ceramic tiles which hopes to imbues these stationary wall works with a sense of movement and wind blowing seeds into the sky.

Thank you to the Toronto Transit Commission for commissioning this work.

The tiles that are individually painted, glazed, fired, cut, and placed to create the artwork for our projects.

created “Site Woven,” a series of seven mosaic panels, for the Charles R. Jonas Federal Building and Courthouse. As the title suggests, the artwork is woven from the history of the building, its site, and the local region.

Each mosaic panel stands at 6’ by 10’ and is made from Byzantine glass smalti, hand-built and hand-glazed ceramic tile in-studio, and seeks to commemorate a different aspect of the courthouse site’s rich history.

Thank you to the Art in Architecture Program, Fine Arts Collection, U.S. General Services Administration, for commissioning this piece, and thank you to Ellen for your great talent.

A dot from Micah Lexier’s “2 Circle” artwork at the Bay Adelaide Centre / BAC in Toronto, ON, Canada. Measuring 30’ by 26’, each tile was hand-formed, hand-cut, and hand-glazed at the studio in Montreal in 2016; a project we continue to be proud to have been a part of. Commissioned by Brookfield Properties and the City of Toronto’s Percent for Public Art Program.

Presenting “There Is Magic Underneath It All” by , seen at Fort Hamilton Pkwy N station in Brooklyn on the Sea Beach Line. Evocative of journeys made by travelers who may have immigrated from another country or traveled to a new place, the artist strived to inspire and remind subway passengers that they are in the realm of possibility, beauty, and magic. These fourteen-panel mosaics seek to translate Berrio’s series of whimsical collaged paintings, made from patterned papers to build fantastical compositions, into rich and intricate textured mosaics using unique hand-formed, hand-glazed ceramic tiles as well as hand-cut smalti. Commissioned by MTA Arts & Design, these were installed in 2019 and continue to be enjoyed by passengers to this day!
