It’s my second Mother’s Day without my mom. This day can bring lots of complicated emotions and we all have so many different reasons why.
When I lost my mom I felt familiar feelings—where is she? How can I feel her close again? I miss her. How do I know what she’s doing? Who is she talking to? Please let me know she’s here.
I had often asked these questions about my Heavenly Mother. That longing was already familiar. And I found it fascinating.
Yes the veil is thin. But it IS there. I get mad that it’s there, between me and both my mothers. Maybe you’re mad that it’s there between you and your spirit children or your loved ones. Maybe there are different veils between you and your mother, sister, or friend.
I’ve had to learn how to feel my mom in a different way. And it’s helped me to feel my Heavenly Mother in new ways.
She is there, in the sunshine. The moonlight. The water. The trees. The sand. The earth. In that sweet homesick feeling when you miss heaven. The moments when you look at your life with the deepest gratitude and your heart could burst. She’s there when you look in the mirror and see the queen you are. She’s there when you’re tired and worn down. She’s there when you’re lost and when you pray. She’s there more often than not.
One day that veil will be broken—torn open. We’ll be delivered from this earthly womb and welcomed into Her warm arms. She will hold us to Her chest and breathe peace into our souls.
But in the meantime, she sent us Her greatest gift, Her own Son. To heal us, console us, and know us. The way to Her is through Him. He will deliver us and rent the veil in twain.
Happy Mother’s Day to you, in whatever your situation is. I hope you feel Her close, even if it’s just a brief moment 🌙
