Bath House Players Alumni

Bath House Players Alumni Helen Hocker Theater in Gage Park The theater was founded in Gage Park in the mid 1960's and was originally given the name of "The Playhouse in the Park."

A page dedicated to supporting, informing and networking for the generations of performers and technicians known as The Bathhouse Players. Issues discussed will include current fundraising opportunities by the Bath House Players and how you can support them... as well as, the inevitable upcoming changes to Helen Hocker Theater and Gage Park. In May of 2017, the Shawnee County Commission began the

first steps to create a Master Plan for Gage Park which will likely effect the current theater's accessibility and location... and possibly it's existence. The Helen Hocker Center for the Performing Arts is an organization dedicated to enriching the cultural growth of our community. Quality family entertainment, positive learning experiences in a friendly atmosphere, and an outlet for artistic expression for youth and adults are found in the Theater's special year-round programming. Family and youth musicals, dramas and comedies are offered, along with music and dance events, performing arts classes and workshops. The primary goals of the Theater are to provide exciting and enjoyable challenges for the participants and quality in all endeavors for patrons. This facility and program are currently operated by the Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy, a valuable partner for several years.

The Bath House Players return to the stage at Helen Hocker Theater with Almost, Maine, a whimsical, heartfelt, and often hilarious play about love in all its forms. Set in a mythical town in northern Maine, the play unfolds in a series of short scenes that explore the strange and magical ways people fall in and out of love. From quirky coincidences to quiet heartbreak, this production showcases not only the emotional range of the script but the incredible talents of the teens who bring it to life — both onstage and behind the scenes. 🎟️ Get tickets at helenhocker.com.
