Today in Black Sabbath History
Nov 14 & 15, 1992 Rob Halford is vocalist for Black Sabbath as Dio quits (in Costa Mesa CA). Ozzy said he was retiring in 1992. He was to play the last farewell shows, Nov. 15, in Costa Mesa, CA, and asked Black Sabbath to open the shows. Dio did not want to open for Ozzy, but the band wanted to. Dio quit Black Sabbath and Rob Halford, who was not in Judas Priest at that time, filled in as the vocalist. Halford sang with Sabbath and Ozzy joined Sabbath both nights for second encores of the songs Black Sabbath, Fairies Wear Boots, Iron Man and Paranoid.
