Poor bird has been a little neglected lately, but I'm finally getting back to showing this peacock some love! 🦚🎨 It's time to get back to work on those feathers and make some progress on this portrait!
And speaking of portraits… 👀 I've finished Prince Eric! I'll be sharing the finished painting in a few days, so keep your eyes open for that one! I can't wait for you all to see how he turned out! 💙

The face is pretty much done, and I've finally started getting some paint down for his hair. It still needs some details, but it's getting there! Next up is his clothes. One step at a time! ❤️

Why are cats like this?! 😂🤦‍♀️
Tangy decided my paint water was the drink of choice today. Never mind the perfectly good filtered water sitting a few feet away. Nope! He wants the water with the paintbrushes in it. 🙄😂
I took the water away, and ended up painting with the water sitting on my lap for a while until he finally lost interest. 🤣
And Eve does it too! Apparently, fresh water is boring when there's paint water available. What is it with these cats?! 😂🎨

Another little step closer! 🎨❤️
It’s funny how much a painting can change with just a few more layers and details. At this point I’m mostly staring at it from across the room, then walking back up to fix one tiny thing. 😂

I love this part of painting when it starts to really come to life! 🥰
You add a few more details, work on the face a little more, and suddenly you can actually see him in there. It’s so fun watching it slowly turn into the picture I had in my head. 🎨❤️

I was feeling SO on top of things today. 😂 Homemade rolls rising, soup in the crock pot, and heading to the high school to paint theatre sets. Look at me being all productive and domestic. 🙌
Then my drink tipped over in the car and spilled everywhere. 🤦‍♀️🙄
So much for having my life together. 😂
At least I know there will be soup and homemade rolls waiting for me later!

The face is starting to poke through the canvas! 👀🎨
This is always such a fun part of a painting because suddenly you can start to see the person coming to life.
There’s still a LOT more to do, but it’s getting there! ❤️

Sometimes a painting looks a little creepy when you first start. 😂
Right now I just have an eye staring at me. 👁️😂 And honestly… it’s a little unsettling.
But I promise there’s a whole painting that will eventually go around this eye! This is just one of those stages where you have to trust the process. 🎨

Why did I NEVER think of this before?! 🤦‍♀️😂
Press and Seal on my paint palette! No more scrubbing and scraping dried paint off my palette after I’m done painting. Just let it dry, pull off the Press and Seal, and boom… clean palette! 🙌
I feel like I just unlocked a whole new level of lazy artist efficiency. 😂🎨

My desk at work. 😂
One for hydration, one for caffeine, and one for a treat. Gotta have a little balance, right? 😂☕🥤
And maybe we just won’t talk about the drawer full of candy. 😆🍫
