We’ve heard the rumors that "Beaver Creek doesn’t try anymore" or that "they just don’t care."
Let’s set the record straight.
This track hasn't been raced on since sometime in June, and I'd bet there isn't another facility that's more race-ready than ours right now. These photos were taken today at 12:00 p.m. We don't just show up on race day—we work on this place constantly, whether it's Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday.
Yes, we worked to seal the track. Yes, we did everything we could to prepare in hopes of racing. We wanted to get this event in just as much as everyone else. But when the forecast is calling for an inch or more of rain beginning around race time, we have to make the responsible decision.
Beaver Creek Speedway is a business. Opening the gates knowing there's a high likelihood of a rainout, only to send everyone home with a refund after they've driven hours and spent money on fuel, hotels, food, and race expenses, isn't fair to our racers or their families. It's not good business, and it's not how we choose to operate.
We know cancellations are disappointing. They're disappointing for us too. But we'd rather make the tough call before people load up and travel than waste everyone's time and money chasing a forecast that simply isn't in our favor.
We appreciate everyone who continues to support Beaver Creek Speedway, and when the weather cooperates, we'll be ready.
