DOT Families - We are trying something new!

We hear you loud and clear: with little ones, committing to plans days in advance can be hard. Naps, moods, sickness, life… sometimes you just don’t know how Thursday is going to go!

So for Pajamas & Play this Thursday, September 3rd from 6–7:30 PM, we’re throwing our minimum-registration rule out the window!

✨ The event is happening NO MATTER WHAT
✨ Walk-ins are welcome
✨ Registration is still recommended to guarantee your spot since capacity limits still apply

If this setup makes events easier and more accessible for your family, come play Thursday and show us! We’re always looking for ways to make DOT work better for our families and remain sustainable as a small business.

Breastfeeding doesn’t have to be going terribly for you to ask for help.

Sometimes baby is gaining weight and feeding is technically going fine, but you’re still uncomfortable, overwhelmed, unsure about your supply, dealing with a sleepy feeder, or wondering if the latch is really what it should be.

Sometimes you just have that feeling that something could be better.

That is enough reason to reach out.

Lactation support at DOT is meant to be a space where we can slow things down, watch a feed, talk through what you’re noticing, and help you figure out what might make things feel easier for you and your baby.

We can help with latch concerns, ni**le pain, sleepy feeds, pumping, supply questions, positioning, returning to work, combo feeding, or just the general question of, “Is this normal?”

You do not have to wait until you are completely overwhelmed to ask for support.

Visiting DOT for the first time? We’ve got you!

From the moment you walk through our doors, we want your family to feel welcome. Our playspace was thoughtfully designed by a pediatric occupational therapist to encourage movement, creativity, confidence, and connection through play.

There’s no right or wrong way to experience DOT. Explore each room at your own pace, let your child follow their interests, and enjoy quality time together in a space created just for them.

More people need this type of education.

Treating people like people, regardless of ability, diagnosis, communication style, or support needs, matters so much. No assumptions. No labels. No talking around someone instead of to them.

Sometimes something as simple as a hello, making eye contact, or acknowledging someone directly can completely shape how an interaction feels.

At DOT Playspace, we want every person who walks through our doors to be seen, included, and treated with dignity and respect. Always.

Inclusion doesn’t have to be complicated. It starts with treating every human like a human. ❤️

Today's Toy Spotlight is our play kitchen!

Our play kitchen is a favorite spot for little chefs, bakers, and imaginative explorers at DOT! From cooking up pretend meals to washing dishes and serving up creations, this space gives kids the chance to let their imaginations run wild. 💗

Pretend play is more than just fun! It helps children practice communication, creativity, problem solving, social skills, and everyday routines while they play.

We have an announcement… and this one is a hard one to make. 😭

After countless crumbs, spills, glitter, sensory bin messes, snack time casualties, and all the mysterious things that somehow end up on the floor at DOT… our beloved vacuum, Old Faithful, has officially been retired.

She didn’t stop working. She simply got promoted to retirement because we decided it was finally time for an upgrade.

Here’s to Old Faithful, who served us well and kept our playspace floors looking somewhat respectable through it all.

Please keep our staff in your thoughts during this difficult time as we learn to navigate DOT without our most hardworking employee. 😂

Gone but never forgotten. Thank you for your service, Old Faithful. 🪦🫡

What better way to celebrate than by introducing our Adopt a Puppy fundraiser at DOT! 🐾

🎟️ Available during Open Play
✨ While supplies last!

$12 per puppy

Each adoption includes:
• 1 stuffed puppy
• 1 carrier to decorate
• 1 custom collar to create

Kids can complete their adoption right here at DOT during Open Play and take home their new puppy friend!

Your adoption helps support the Ability Center’s Assistance Dogs Program.
