Help put “eyes” on 624 Delaware! Today’s focus is on the gem of the Old West End Preservation Committee: the house at 624 Delaware! 624 Delaware was set to be demolished, and thanks to the AMAZING efforts of this neighborhood and the joint preservation and revitalization efforts of the Preservation Committee and the Lucas County Land Bank, 624 Delaware was pulled back from the brink and saved!

These monumental efforts - the blood, sweat and tears of hundreds of hours in the heat and bone-chilling cold by the hard-working preservationists - have been honored in a resolution from the City of Toledo City Council. 624 Delaware represents both the largest-ever project AND fundraising effort by the Preservation Committee, as the house will be sold and proceeds used to fund Preservation’s next BIG project.

But we need your help getting 624 Delaware across the finish line! There are just a few key items left to pay for, specifically the front windows - the eyes of the house! Your donation today will also go towards paying for drywall and electrical and ensure Preservation can 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 on the whole neighborhood’s investment and 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗱.

Dear Neighbors and Guests of the Old West End,

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that it is important to follow some guidelines regarding the use of Golf Carts in the Old West End during the Festival. We do have a new Security group comprised of Local Law Enforcement this year and we wanted to make people mindful of the following:

1) Children under the age of 16 or without a driver’s license may not operate Golf Carts. They may be stopped and removed from the Cart.

2) Do not operate Golf Carts under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol or with Open Containers of Alcohol. You can get a DUI while operating a Golf Cart.

3) Please obey traffic laws while using Golf Carts. Driving Carts on Sidewalks presents hazards to pedestrians.

4) A reminder that most rental carts are not legal for use on public roadways. Please keep this in mind while operating your cart if it does not have a license plate and has not passed the required City of Toledo inspection.

Law enforcement or Security may stop people. Again we have a new group providing security this year and they may enforce these rules. Please be respectful of the community and respectful of the fact that law enforcement may look the other way and allow unlicensed carts to operate on our neighborhood streets for this special occasion.

Thank you,

Old West End Festival
