A outlet for this studio to keep up with some of the happenings at our studio. In the mid 1960s Jack began to work in glass, experimenting with the material.

Located in the arts district in downtown Toledo, Ohio and down the street from The Oliver House. Messenger Schmidt Studios is a small private studio for the artists Shawn Messenger and Jack Schmidt. Shawn Messenger produces works of floral vases inspired by the gardens from her own home and the great paintings of Impressionists such as Matisse. Showing at many of the trade shows around the country

Shawn's work is a contemporary take on old traditional Italian techniques. Jack Schmidt is a sculptor born and raised in Toledo and a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Sense the 1980s Jack has been combining metal and glass in series's that span from figural to architectural forms. His latest series of works 'Precious Stone has a deep connection to the landscape, referencing horizon lines and earthly qualities. His work is represented by Habatat Galleries throughout the country.

Plus great vases, bowls and an amazing collection of Jack Schmidt sculptures, Timothy Stover new unbelievable castings and Ian Schmidt one of a kind vases! Keegan O’Brien and Mitch Warren super assistants will be making glass pieces and showing how my murrini flowers are created!!

Forget-Me-Nots paperweights with new assistant Keegan O’Brien who helped make the murrini and the paperweights. The other new assistant Joe Tong ground and polished them to perfection. They are ready to ship out to waiting customers!

Charging “adding” new glass to the furnace. I thought that Crystallica was mostly small wafers. Unfortunately lots of small junk. Wonder how it will fine out?!

We were contacted by someone that purchased this Jack Schmidt stein made in 1970. The piece was made at the Toledo Museum of Art in the original Glass Crafts building. The red glass was the creation of Jack and Fritz Dreisbach.
Wish the red glass made today by glass companies could be this beautiful!
The piece apparently will go to eBay so watch for it and it could be yours.
