"Alfred Frank is a Toledo-based artist whose work has appeared in the Toledo Museum of Art, 13th and Madison Ave Art Gallary, Barnes and Noble, Mano’s Greek Restaurant, Murphey’s Place, and Theos Tavern. He has had commissions from the St. Vincent’s Medical Center and the Spectrum Gallery of Fine Art. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo. He cites Diana Attie and Peter Elloian as influences and mentors. The painting “In That Dress” was written about is named “Freedom” and is part of a ten-year chronology series Frank produced called “The Faerie in the Forest Series”. Alfred created the series while teaching printmaking methods at Dee’s Delightful Art, 137 Michigan Avenue, Toledo as well as the Arts and Performance Center of West Toledo. Frank also opened his art studio located in his home in 1988. Besides painting and printmaking, Alfred Frank is also a composer of piano music and is a published poet appearing in the Toledo Magazine in 2012."
