The NEWvember New Plays Festival continues to shine bright in dear Dublin! Founded by Tangent & AboutFACE Theatre Company in Tivoli NY in 2011, this dynamic event has now crossed the Atlantic and is living on with the theater makers and exciting writers in Ireland. We are always so glad to be asked to partake in our own way, and we'll be on this year's reading panel once again. We hope to one day reboot NEWvember, or a version of it, here again. It was great fun!

One of the newsletters we subscribe to, called The Scene, had a great write-up recently about the unique experience of live theater. It touched on the concept of the brief, one-of-a-kind and unified occurrence we share - and why we do it. An excerpt referring to theater companies: "You, your cast, your team and your audience somehow managed to make the impossible happen. You created something that was at once fleeting and everlasting…something that, for some, passed in an instant and, for others, will live forever in memory. Something that vanishes yet remains eternal. You made theater happen. And that, theater makers, is magic."

A cozy, blue-hued room and the twinkle of lights set the stage for our late night Manhattan story. Huge thanks to all who came to experience "Lobby Hero" this weekend. We saw two full houses, heard lots of laughs and caught some audible gasps. Its timely relevance resonated through the space.
