After a development period of five years, San Francisco based ensemble inkBoat will premiere their unique and experimental dance performance, Clouds from a Crumbling Giant: our wild shining days at the festival on Thursday April 30.

Clouds from a Crumbling Giant
A dance performance by inkBoat

Clouds from a Crumbling Giant inhabits the spaces between lives—where time loosens, bodies remember, and consciousness bends inward. Set within a liminal “waiting room” of the afterlife, the work follows wandering souls as they re-enact fragments of their corporeal histories.

Founded in 1998, inkBoat is known for its deeply collaborative approach, bringing together artists from diverse practices including Noh Theater, Corporeal Mime, Butoh Dance, Physical Theater, and richly textured sound environments shaped by acoustic instruments and design.

Directed by Shinichi Iova-Koga, this performance is created in collaboration with Dana Iova-Koga, Jubilith Moore, Elke Luyten, Cass Tunick, Dan Cantrell, Adria Otte, and Shahzad Ismaily.

This presentation at Jane St. Art is part of a development process that will culminate in a full production in San Francisco, April 30 – May 3, 2026.
