Yuppie will be a featured act at Tippapalooza 2026.

Yuppie is a Dayton indie band blending gritty Americana roots with raw emotional storytelling. Fronted by lead singer and guitarist Zack Sliver—a Marine veteran whose time overseas shaped his songwriting—the band crafts introspective tracks exploring resilience, love, and the quiet struggle of coming home.

Their sound fuses folk-rock melodies with a touch of post-grunge edge, drawing comparisons to Kings of Leon and The War on Drugs while maintaining a voice that’s unmistakably their own. The kind of music you hum along with, drink a few too many beers to, and linger in empty parking lots long past when you should’ve gone home. “Happy songs about hard things.”

The Gage Thomas Band brings a soulful blend of jam rock, blues, and folk to every stage. Known for high energy performances, a love for improvisation, and a strong catalog of original music, this five-piece from west-central Ohio delivers a fresh, vintage-inspired sound that makes every show a unique experience.

Tippapalooza is Saturday Sept. 5th in downtown Tipp City.

Tippapalooza will feature the band Kittinger on Sept 5 in downtown Tipp City.

Kittinger blends indie rock, alternative rock, indie pop, electropop, synth pop, house and chillwave into a genre-defying sound. Ever-evolving, this experienced crew of artists explores uncharted spaces, building rhythms from samples of acoustic drums, percussion, modular synthesizers and ancient drum machines.

Ethereal synthesizer pads, Mellotrons, string machines, analog monosynth leads, and a host of bleeps and bloops carry listeners into the stratosphere.

Here is everything you need to know about Tippapalooza:

Tippapalooza is a free concert in downtown Tipp City (on South Second Street) that will be held Saturday Sept 5 starting at 5 PM.

We feature musicians and bands from the Miami Valley who write and record their own music. We like rock music and this year's event leans specifically toward bands that play indie, jam, Americana, and blues music.

Food will be available from the great restaurants located in Downtown Tipp City.

Tippapalooza is within the Tipp City DORA and alcohol is available from the area bars and restaurants.

This is a family friendly event. We encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs - but be prepared to dance!

There are a lot of moving parts needed to make an event like Tippapalooza a success, one of the important parts is publicity. We try to take advantage of every way possible to get the word out about Tippapalooza. We use social media, our website, posters, appearances on radio and TV programs, and other methods to the extent we can.

An important part of our publicity plan is advertising in This Local Life Magazine. We are grateful for the partnership we have built over the years with the publication and it's publisher Matt Bayman. Tippapalooza always welcomes the best of talent from the Miami Valley to our stage, and that is not just the bands. Once again Art Jipson, AKA Dr. J will be our Master of Ceremonies.

Art is the preeminent authority, hype man, supporter, and lover of all things related to Dayton area music. And it is an honor to have Dr J back this year.
