Please read and share. Here are some pictures of the trip we made to a small community outside of Burnsville NC. We plan on making another trip this Friday. Our goal on the upcoming trip will be to take as much food that we can in my refrigerated truck so upon arrival we can reheat and serve immediately along with cooking hamburgers, hotdogs, etc. Several people today told me that today was the first hot meal they had since the hurricane. What the news shows is nothing compared to what is actually happening. It's truly devastating. I met several people from this small community, listened to their stories, cried with them and prayed with them. It will be several weeks before kids can go back to school and things start to be normal again.
Here is what I would like to do and I ask of you to please help make it happen. Tomorrow around 5pm, I will post restaurants that I have talked with. If you would like to help, call a restaurant that I list and purchase what you would like to send. I will pick up what you ordered, deliver it and help feed this wonderful community thats so desperately in need. I do not want any cash donations given to me. I got the pickup and delivery covered. Please help these people. The shelter, located at South Toe Elementary has power, absolute wonderful staff, and can store food and serve their community. Please help. Thanks in advance
