Meet Willa Sorg playing Sarah and Lilith Barajas playing Alice, two blind children who attend the Perkins School for the Blind in “The Miracle Worker”!

The students of the Perkins School for the Blind may have only a few lines, but they play an important role in bringing Anne Sullivan's world to life. Portraying blind children requires focus, discipline, and careful attention to movement and interaction, especially for young performers. These talented actors have embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and dedication, helping create some of the play's memorable and authentic moments.

Willa is a third grade student at South Prairie Elementary where math is her favorite subject. She has performed at the Bay City Arts Center in “Squid in the Snow”. This role is difficult for her as she is learning to not look at who is talking. Willa is an avid reader and her current choice is Dav Pilkey. Willa spends time hiking with her family in the area.

Lilith is new to the TAPA stage but not new to the world of acting. Musical productions at Nestucca High School of “Wizard of OZ”, “Shrek”, “Anastasia” and “Mama Mia” are in her resume. As a young child she would pretend at home to be blind, and now that time is being recalled as she learns to be blind on stage. She enjoys the stage and performing in front of an audience. Lilith is a fifth grade student at Nestucca Valley Elementary. If she is not on a stage, she is creating online content or masks from various mediums.

Meet Logen Steinbach playing Captain Arthur Keller in “The Miracle Worker”!

Captain Keller is Helen father and the head of the Keller household. A former Confederate army captain, he is strong-willed, protective, and deeply devoted to his daughter. Throughout the play, Captain Keller struggles to balance his love for Helen with the difficult choices required to help her grow, making him a complex and compelling figure in the family's journey.

Logen has graced the TAPA stage previously in “Clue” and “Over the River and Through the Woods”. When not acting Logen has his own business in town, Above Grade Contracting. He spends time riding motorcycles and tinkering with mechanics.

Introducing Leah Jordan Martins as Martha and Anthony Kleeman as Percy in “The Miracle Worker”!

Martha and Percy are the children of servants in the Keller household and often play with young Helen Keller. Martha frequently finds herself dealing with Helen’s unpredictable outbursts, while Percy becomes an important part of Anne Sullivan’s efforts to teach Helen how to communicate and spell. These characters help show both the chaos and growth within the Keller home as Helen begins her journey toward understanding.

Leah is debuting her acting career with her role as Martha. She is a dancer with Oregon Coast Dance Center, and enjoys playing games and drawing in her downtime. Leah is joined on stage with her mother Kelsey, and she enjoys this as they run lines at home together. Leah is excited to be doing this play and looks forward to more acting with TAPA. She is a fourth grade student at Nestucca Valley.

Anthony has performed musical theatre for several years with Oregon Coast Dance Center, however this is his first experience in a role with TAPA. Anthony likes being a character that is unlike his personality while learning of a different time period. He is a fifth grade student at East Elementary School and he likes to spend time playing with friends and video games, and he has an interest in STEM.

Tonight, the curtain rises on “The Miracle Worker”….a powerful story of determination, family, frustration, and breakthrough.

This moment captures one of the many striking scenes in the production: Anne Sullivan trapped upstairs after Helen locks her in her room, climbing from a second-story window as the Keller family watches below. It’s a scene filled with tension, humor, and the fierce persistence that defines Anne’s journey with Helen.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this production. We are excited to finally share this remarkable story with our audience tonight!

Meet Maddox Jondahl playing James Keller in “The Miracle Worker!”

James is Helen Keller’s half-brother and the son of Captain Keller. Sharp-witted and often sarcastic, James isn’t afraid to challenge his father and speak uncomfortable truths within the family. His perspective adds both tension and insight to the Keller household as they struggle to help Helen.

Maddox brings his experience of acting from three years in middle and high school, as well as worked with TAPA in the summer Starlight shows. Maddox is a ninth grade student at Tillamook High School and enjoys digital art, sculpting, painting and 3D modeling in their spare time.

Introducing Dennis Darling as the Doctor in “The Miracle Worker”!

When young Helen Keller falls ill, the Doctor reassures the Keller family that she is simply experiencing the same childhood fevers and sicknesses many children face, unaware of the challenges that will soon shape her future forever.

Dennis was seen in TAPA’s “Things My Mother Taught Me” in early 2025, however Dennis’s acting started with community theatre while living in Illinois. He moved here in retirement to be closer to family. When not on stage you can find him playing guitar or keyboard at local venues. He has been instrumental in assisting the director with her vision of the set.
