After a great deal of trouble shooting and chasing our tail in circles we believe we found the culprit who contributed to the unusable green water truck at our race at Motosplat last month. We found a mouse nest and some chewed up wires under the hood. So far the repair seems to have fixed things but we are going to run the truck through a few more rigorous test runs before getting too excited

We are working hard as a family to correct the issues from the May race and hope everyone will attend themselves to personally judge our efforts and progress

Also got a brief update that the brake system on “Wetty Betty” is under repair. One of these trucks plus the new one we acquired will be at the “Back to the Future” weekend June 26-28 at Motosplat. We wish you all a great week and hope to see you June 26-28 at Motosplat

In an effort to support those who support the sport and our events, we are extending a $15 discount on your second race class if you show proof of purchase of a new motorcycle from Southeast Sales Powersports or Northwoods Motorsports in the past two years. Sale must be in your name or a parents name if you are a minor. You are welcome to hide the purchase price, but proof of purchase is required.

The Risk Racing Holeshot Challenge is coming to Motosplat MX on Saturday evening, June 27th!

No holeshot devices. No launch control.

Just rider vs. rider to see who is the next Mike Alessi! We'll be using the Risk Racing Holeshot Pro Electronic Starting Gate for the ultimate test of reaction time and starting skill.

Just wanting to let the Moto community know the plans being put into place to address the issues we experienced at the first Motosplat event in mid May:

We have acquired a third water truck, a very mechanically sound 6 x 6 Military issue tanker. This truck will allow us to reach all areas of the track, including the steeper hills. The other two water trucks are being worked on by certified mechanics at highway truck parts in New London. We will have our best two plus Shawn’s at the next race at Motosplat

With the track now heading the original direction there is no reason to cross a live track. Racers will ride through the finish and exit at the end of the next straightway just before the back sweeper. A sign will clearly mark the exit. See map and sign. There will be a printed sign displayed at registration as well as on the posting board. The 50cc riders will exit on the complete opposite end of the facility, again see the provided map. Flaggers and willing parents will help direct the kids.

We have invested in a completely new radio system so all track crew and officials are on the same frequency. All radios are equipped with ear pieces or noise cancelling headsets. We will require a triple “all clear” and implement an additional 30 second wait period prior to any track maintenance between motos. Weather depending, we may return to two shorter “intermissions” for track maintenance, that will be a day of decision.

In addition to all D16 classes, our “Back to the Future” themed race will feature three vintage bike classes for machines 20 years old and older!

You have just two weeks left to dig them out of the back shed, dust them off, polish them up, and get them ready for Motosplat MX, June 26-28!

We’ve also added a vintage—but incredibly tough—water truck to the fleet: a 1966 military-issued Deuce-and-a-Half 6x6 ready to help us tackle whatever Mother Nature throws our way.
