Sometimes you show a movie just because it deserves to be seen. Which is why we’re proud to present MATINEE starting Friday. “Gremlins” director Joe Dante’s love letter to sci-fi/horror flicks of the 50s and 60s stars John Goodman as a William Castle-esque director determined to entertain his audiences to within an inch of their lives. We do give this our highest recommendation. Here’s a little look.

Starting Friday, September 4th, we have some really good movies coming your way! First, we'll have the time-warp/dinosaur adventure THE END OF OAK STREET Starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. And check out the should-have-been-huge 1993 gem, MATINEE. John Goodman stars as a horror film director who decides to test his latest movie - complete with a boatload of gimmicks - in a small Florida town in the early 60s. More on both of these soon, but get ready for a really FUN week at the Joy!

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo star in this riotous tale of the perils of a cross-country road trip. Summer ain't over yet! To underscore this point, we'll be playing NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION starting this Friday. Showtimes will bounce just a little between 7pm and 7:20. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo lead the way in a film that reminds us what summer, fun and family are all about.
