Meet the Director: Stephanie Anderson
Stephanie is thrilled to have the opportunity to give life to a brand new dance program, Metro Dance Academy. A dancer all her life, she is looking forward to teaching skills to kids of all ages. Stephanie is formally trained in the dance styles of ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern and tap, and is not only a dancer, but an all around performer. She is a veteran of the stage through dance competitions, musicals, plays, as well as vocal recitals. With a true love of performing and entertaining, Stephanie pursued her degree at the Conservatory of Music at Chapman University, focusing on singing while remaining on top of her dance technique through classes at Chapman and Jimmie Defore Dance Center for the Arts. Currently, Stephanie is embarking on her fourth year as a member of BlazerDancers with the Portland Trailblazers. She was a four year member of Tigard High School's Varsity Dance Team where she was a captain during her senior year. Throughout her dance career, Stephanie has kept busy with teaching dance, discovering a love for choreography. Teaching at Metro Dance Clinic, Thunderbird Dance Camp, and Fired Up Dance Academy, Stephanie has had the opportunity to really grow as a teacher. Other dance credits include, the All-State Dance Team, Miss Thunderbird at Thunderbird Dance Camp, and a PAMPTA nomination for her choreography in the musical "Zombie Prom." Stephanie looks forward to growing the program and establishing a reputable name for Metro Dance Center based on strong dance values and technique.
