The Ritz at 100 - A Legacy in Light
The historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Tiffin is launching a bold new capital campaign, The Ritz at 100 – A Legacy in Light, aimed at preserving and strengthening the beloved venue as it approaches its 100th anniversary in December 2028.
A cornerstone of the community for nearly a century, The Ritz hosts more than 60 events each year, including concerts, comedy, films and educational programming.
The $1 million campaign will fund key facility upgrades, modern technology, accessibility improvements and long-term sustainability efforts—ensuring the theatre continues to serve future generations.
“The Ritz Theatre enriches our community through accessible, high-quality entertainment and education,” said co-chair Celinda Scherger. “Its impact reaches far beyond the stage.”
Co-chair Jeff Stockner added, “This is more than a building—it’s a place where memories are made and shared across generations.”
Executive Director Michael Strong noted the campaign will help secure the theatre’s future while honoring its legacy.
The campaign builds on strong financial progress. The Ritz currently covers about 70% of its operating expenses through earned revenue and has reduced long-term debt from $2.7 million in 2004 to less than $240,000 today. Additional support, including an endowment held by the Tiffin Community Foundation, continues to strengthen its foundation.
