This view from Bel Aire Elementary in Tiburon, California has to be one of my all time favorites, especially with the crystal clear sky this morning before our Accelerated Readers school assembly. The students and staff at this school are absolutely incredible with about 600 of the most polite, enthusiastic, and on-the-ball kids ever!

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to perform some of my draw along school assemblies at Mabel L. Pendleton Elementary in Buena Park, as a reward to their kiddos for doing great on their Read Across America program. Their librarian, Lisa Jessup, arranged the shows and instantly became a Hero with the kids and teachers for doing so!

Had a wonderful time yesterday at Jurupa Vista PTO for the second year in a row! Such big crowds during the assemblies, but such well behaved kiddos!

Emory Elementary had the guts to try something new last year and have my draw along school assemblies in lieu of the normal hum-drum, boring assemblies most schools have. They loved it so much they brought be back this year... and we've got the Family Art Night scheduled tonight as well!

I drew a panda for the kiddo in the front row while we were waiting for the assemblies to start this morning at Rhein Benninghoven out here in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Absolutely phenomenal school, just like Rising Star yesterday. I'll post pics from the Family Art Night as soon as I can -- both schools had huge attendances!

I had an amazing opportunity to perform at a Kansas elementary school this morning! 2,000+ schools in California and this marks the 1st ever for me in Kansas.

Quick shots from Lugonia this morning! 2nd year visiting and the Principal reminded me how much she enjoys not only the arts education benefits of this assembly… but also the extensive use of math vocabulary.
