After a break last year, we’re back in that Summer Show Swing! We did some read throughs, some space organizing, and some practice planning for our own dystopian societies. Back at it tomorrow with one hard working and focused company!

Eight years ago, it was an empty space and a vision…

This summer, we finished the final major build in our scene shop… our vertical sheet goods storage! It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of project that makes everything else better. It’s safer for students, keeps materials organized and usable, reduces waste, and helps every crew move through the shop with purpose.

When Riverdale Ridge opened, this room was completely empty. We were building scenery while we were still building the shop itself. Every shelf, workbench, storage rack, and system has been added piece by piece over the years as each new group of students left the space a little better than they found it.

Today isn’t really about a lumber rack. It’s about everyone who picked up a drill, stayed late, shared an idea, or simply believed in what this program could become.

Thank you for helping build more than a shop. You helped build a place where students learn to create, collaborate, solve problems, and take pride in their work.

Here’s to the next generation of builders. 🛠️💙
