FB County Board members from Winnebago, Worth and Kossuth counties recently received a private tour of the Fendt plant in Jackson, Minnesota, the North American home of the Fendt brand. The Fendt brand of tractors originated in Germany in 1930 and continues to be manufactured there today. Fendt tractors, combines, TerraGators, planters, and balers are now used throughout the world.
During the in-depth tour, the group was able to observe every aspect of the assembly process for both tractors and TerraGators. As the equipment moved down the assembly lines, parts were added by skilled employees at more than 60 workstations, allowing the machines to gradually take shape. It was evident that the company takes great pride in quality and efficiency, with multiple inspections and quality checks conducted throughout the assembly process.
The group also learned that many components are manufactured in-house using advanced technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing. These processes help ensure precision, consistency, and efficiency in production.
The tour was enjoyed by all who attended and provided a unique, interesting, and informative look at the manufacturing processes behind some of the world's most advanced agricultural equipment.
