“Let’s talk Projectors and meta goggles ! Is it ok to use one? Yes! Should you use it for everything? Probably not...but ultimately it’s about the painting overall outcomes not how you get the image onto the surface . These items are tools!
Longtime followers will know I love my projector! should I always use it… nah, but it can take a long time to drawing something especially on something as big and complicated as this. Is it cheating? No. It’s a tool.
So that’s when my trusty projector comes out. The cons to it? You need distance, it needs to be dark, and you need a power source. For Winsted I tried something new. I did a bunch of research and spoke to many other artist who have use them. The meta 3s googles. Using virtual reality to get the outline on the wall. There a learning curve but definitely worth the investment.
There’s no ‘correct way’ to transfer your image and it’s good to practice different methods but in the end it’s about what works best for you!
