It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Woody Heath, former owner of The Ritz Theater.

Woody became part of the Ritz’s long history in April 2020 when he purchased the theater from the Neal family. During his time as owner, he put his own touch on this historic building and helped shape many of the spaces our community recognizes today.

Woody redesigned the lobby and cafe areas, adding the red leather booth seating, chandelier, and distinctive black, silver, and copper details. He also expanded the kitchen and envisioned an ice cream parlor in the former game room space.

The Ritz has had many owners throughout its history, and each has left a piece of themselves behind. Woody’s contributions will remain a part of this theater and its story for years to come.

We are grateful for the time, work, and vision Woody gave to The Ritz Theater.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Woody. Your place in the history of The Ritz will always be remembered. ❤️🎬
