The Houston Symphony can't wait to bring the power of Billy Joel and Elton John's astounding combined catalogue to life on July 21st - for free!

We wanted to share a message from Michael Cavanaugh in advance of the show:

"Unfortunately, I am currently under medical care for a vocal injury that requires specialized treatment. As a result, I am unable to appear with the Houston Symphony for our July 21st performance.

I am truly sorry to have to miss this performance. I know it affects many people, including the audience, the symphony, and the presenters. I'm expected to make a full recovery and I can't wait to perform for you all again soon."

We are excited to announce that acclaimed vocalist and pianist Tony DeSare will step in to perform Billy Joel's and Elton John's spectacular songbooks.

Journey's music is all the more epic when backed by the Houston Symphony and rocked by our friends at Windborne Music. But the real feeling we want to hold on to is watching thousands of families, friends and fans come together to experience and share their favorite music - completely for free. When we talk about making the arts more accessible for all, it's moments like these we have in mind.

See you tomorrow when we do it all again - with the inconceivable Princess Bride on the big screens and the Houston Symphony returning to play the score live! And yes, that show is free too.
