We were rearranging again and trying to wire, rewire and move sconces around. All of these need to be moved as this original painting is bigger than the piece that was originally above the desk. We may wait in case this oil sells tomorrow 😜 or tonight. Shop away!

Late 1700’s Georgian oak plate rack and dresser in wonderful condition. I have a similar one at home filled with miniature crocks and a huge old Pennsylvania mortar and pestle. If this dresser stays around long enough I may have to quietly swap it out. Storage is always necessary and I could easily fill this.

Late 1800’s beautiful cherry farm table with a single drawer and tapered legs. This can be in a farm house, cottage or formal country home. The warmth of the wood, with many imperfections will look lovely with your china on it or as a wide console behind a sofa or in a large foyer. As a matter of fact it would make a lovely workspace in a library or study.

We have not had a Jacobean sideboard in quite a while. Actually our sideboards and consoles sell almost immediately because they are so usable. This oak console has such interesting legs and stretchers. I wonder if it was at once part of a cupboard and the plate rack or shelves above has moved on without him.

We are starting to buy things for beach and coastal homes and gardens. It takes months to find beautiful classic pieces. When we ordered new outdoor furniture last year it took ten months to arrive and then the ordered was unfulfilled. So this year, we are on it! One of the reasons we HAD to fill a container this summer was this piece that we found from a wonderful antique dealer in Provence. We could not resist this writing desk she had in her shop one of the first weeks of our trip. Here it is in all its glory. C 1800 walnut with tulip stringing, working drawer and lock as well. Nothing is needed to be done other than to find it a good home. We just can’t bring everything home, can we?

Since the weather isn’t participating with Old Man Winter, it’s a balmy 66 here, we have decided to pop into summer dreams. Nothing better than fresh lobster chilling in a beautiful pewter container unless perhaps it’s champagne and ice along side it. Adorned with the few Italian linens we have left from our European trip, a great French dining table and viola, instant summer.
